Grocery Outlet (NASDAQ: GO) is a high-growth, extreme value retailer of quality, name-brand consumables and fresh products grocery retailer that offers deeply discounted prices through a network of independently owned and operated stores. With more than 400 retail stores in eight states, the company is expanding its footprint of small-box format outlets.
NORR is an Architect of Record (AOR) providing integrated architecture and structural engineering services for all phases of work which includes construction documents, permit management and construction administration for both ground up stores and retrofits of second generation spaces. Each as-is project incorporates a 3D laser scan of the interior and exterior of the existing building as a basis for layout and design. 3D scanning captures highly accurate site conditions and helps to visualize the current physical as-built conditions and information. The process identifies opportunities and potential challenges prior to the construction phase to remain consistent with the established grocery store prototype. Refrigeration is a key component in the design layout to offer fresh departments, produce, meat, dairy, deli and unique Natural, Organic, Specialty and Healthy (NOSH) products.
In the current economy, time-to-market for Grocery Outlet is critical to offer deeply discounted, overstocked, and closeout products from name brand and private label suppliers in strategic locations across the company’s geographic footprint. Efficiency of design thinking, planning, process and integration plays a vital role in meeting the defined store roll out schedule and business strategy.
