Emon Lou

B.F.A., ARIDO, ASID, IFMA, NCIDQ

Principal, Interior Design, North America

With three decades of interior design experience, Emon has shaped the design of more than four million square feet of interiors in the Commercial and Hospitality market sectors. She continually strives to create original interiors that reflect the client’s brand, lifestyle and goal — interiors that are timeless, meaningful and most of all, livable. Emon offers a balance of creativity, collaboration and forward thinking with a structured and detailed manor. She believes a space that completes the client’s brand in turn, will support the client’s business as a whole – both internally and externally.

As Principal of Interior Design in the Commercial market sector at NORR, Emon works with multi-disciplinary teams that take a client-centric approach to realize value and vision. She has won several design competitions such as McKinsey & Company’s FinTech Hub and Beanfield Centre at Exhibition Place in Toronto, ON. Emon also played an active role in the Yonge Corporate Centre concourse design transformation that links three office buildings and provides access to the Toronto Transit Commission subway. The transformation resulted in an increased use of the concourse space, improved the visitor experience, increased retail tenancy in the space – and increased sales at the neighboring restaurant.

At a young age, Emon saw how her uncle, an interior designer, transformed her home into an amazing space. She immediately knew that interior design was her path and has been focused on it ever since. Born and raised in Macau to a creative family, her love of art and design was fostered from a very young age. Emon graduated from the University of San Francisco in Interior Design. She is active in student affairs and conducts project and portfolio reviews and attends student events including the Ryerson’s Annual Career Night.
