Ricardo’s forte is designing vibrant and commercially viable Retail environments that enable product sales and deliver maximum value per square foot. Leading his team of Retail design professional, he works in collaboration with major brands such as CVS Pharmacy, Amazon, Grocery Outlet, Lidl, RH, Tidal Wave Dollar General and Altar’d State to mention a few. His core focus is developing a Retail experience that embraces consumer trends, technological advances and business imperatives through connected online and in-store (phygital) design. With more than 20 years of experience, Ricardo looks for opportunities to apply sustainability best practices with an eye for economical design for local, State and National rollout programs and projects.
As Senior Principal, Retail, North America, Ricardo is a driving force of innovation with a hands-on approach to client collaboration, problem solving, client satisfaction and project management. He believes that successful architecture, engineering and design is a result of understanding the surrounding built environment, competitive landscape, and consumer behavior in combination with clear business objectives. His deep knowledge within the Retail world covers the spectrum of: Retail Health and Pharmacies; Grocery, Convenience and Fuel Stations; Lifestyle Apparel; High-End Retail; Development Driven Retail Centers; and Master Planning. He also leads mixed-use Retail projects incorporating Restaurants and Hospitality with an emphasis on the a holistic fashion to unify the overall vision.
Ricardo is a strong player outside of the workplace. He directs his creativity to music, playing the guitar and piano with his children for friends and family. He believes that music is much like architecture; to be successful in the Retail design environment, you must find a consistent tempo and balance that results in overall project success and client satisfaction.
