CVS Health – CVS Pharmacy Program

A core member of the CVS Health National Architecture Program since 2001, NORR is supporting the company’s progressive integrated model of personalized, technology driven services to connect people to health solutions. The Master Services Agreement (MSA) provides on-call architectural and engineering services including prototype store design and management, new construction, remodels, expansion, brand conversion and call centers. More than 4,000 locations across the US have been completed.

The Program works to enhance store accessibility, functionality and service and product delivery across the Fortune 6 national retail portfolio. The goal is to create inclusive, compliant environments that serve all customers effectively while supporting CVS’s ongoing expansion into healthcare services. This approach provides consistent implementation of accessibility standards and brand requirements at diverse locations while maintaining operational continuity.

As an evolution of meeting consumer demands in urban areas, CVS will be rolling out a chain of smaller-footprint pharmacy-focused stores. The transformative changes will simplify and streamline the patient journey and introduce modern sustainable elements. Under the MSA, NORR provides full design, interiors, architecture, MEP, and structural engineering, along with permitting and construction administration.

Supporting CVS’s journey to reach net operational and embodied carbon targets by 2050, a Life Cycle Assessment was completed on the portfolio and prototypes to inform the Program design. This forward-thinking strategy aligns to the “triple- bottom-line” of people, planet, and profit in alignment with the UN Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs).
