CoreSite’s Reston Data Center Campus is a purpose-built, interconnected hub designed to meet the rising demands of cloud-driven, data-intensive industries. Through VA1, VA2, and VA3, the campus delivers mission-critical colocation services, low-latency connectivity and direct onramps to all major cloud providers. As one of only two providers in the region offering native cloud connections, CoreSite envisioned a scalable, resilient ecosystem to help customers future-proof their IT infrastructure and accelerate hybrid and multi-cloud strategies—powering everything from everyday digital services to next-generation AI and machine learning.
NORR led the planning, design, and delivery of the campus in distinct phases (the retrofit of VA1, all phases of VA2, and initial build of VA3) to expand capacity while maintaining operations. An integrated approach aligned architecture, interior design, and robust structural systems across all phases, along with advanced MEP infrastructure at VA3, to shape a campus that balances high performance with adaptability.
VA1, a full renovation of the existing building, established a destination for scalable colocation and interconnection, tethered by fiber to major networks. VA2 followed as a ground up five story building, connected to the existing two-story VA1 with an entrance bridge as well as an equipment bridge. A detailed zoning and site analysis maximized buildable area while integrating the new structure into the sloped site, enhancing the entry plaza and screening service zones.
The latest phase, VA3 expanded the campus with high-density colocation capacity and administrative offices, with the initial build-out including a 3MW computer room. VA3 is certified under the NVIDIA DGX-Ready Data Center program for providing advanced power, cooling, and interconnection needed for computationally intensive operations. The facility will ultimately support 51MW of power.
Built for the next era of cloud and AI, CoreSite’s Reston Campus empowers organizations to scale rapidly, connect securely, and innovate without limits. With dark-fiber access across a rich local ecosystem and advanced cooling systems that reduce cost and carbon footprint, it’s a future-ready platform for businesses that demand more—from their data, their infrastructure, and their potential.
