Nicolle Cairney
Director, Interior Design, UK
Nicolle Cairney directs our UK Interior Design practice with a clear vision: creating spaces that do more than look beautiful—they work beautifully.
Her approach considers how planning, materiality, light, acoustics, and spatial flow influence how people experience and use a space. For clients, that means interiors designed with purpose, balancing creativity, function, and performance.
Nicolle brings proven knowledge across Commercial, Education, Hospitality, and Transportation projects across the UK and Europe, delivering new builds, renovations, and heritage restoration. She combines design thinking, psychology, and technical knowledge to solve complex challenges, whether optimizing layouts or working within budget and structural constraints.
Sustainability is integral to her approach, prioritizing reuse, material durability, circularity, and lower-carbon solutions. She also considers adaptability and sensory comfort so spaces can respond to changing needs and a broader range of users. Immersive technologies also allow clients and stakeholders to experience spaces before construction, making decisions more informed and collaborative.
Beyond the studio, Nicolle draws inspiration from travel, exploring history, culture, and place to bring fresh perspectives to every project.
