Simon is a registered architect with a 25-year career in architecture and design working extensively across the UK, and previously in the Far East. He takes a pragmatic design-led approach to his projects, balancing design excellence with the commercial realities of project realization. Simon believes good design doesn’t have to be expensive.
The scope of his experience is wide ranging and includes complex urban projects and large-scale master planning of edge of settlement developments and brown field sites. These projects feature both new build works and sensitive restorations of listed buildings, taking these projects from inception stage, through to statutory approvals, detailed production information, tender negotiations and delivery of complex projects on site. Simon is an experienced contract administrator and has also worked as an expert witness.
As a Director based out of NORR’s Newcastle Office, Simon is an integral leader across Commercial, Hospitality and Residential. having designed and delivered multiple award-winning hotel and restaurant projects, as well as all facets of volume housing and specialist Residential accommodation. He understands that good design is born from a clear vision and collaboration is key to creating a unique identity for every project, ensuring the wider benefit that architecture can bring to our wider society.
Simon is a ‘modern’ classic car enthusiast. He values the way the cars are designed to be beautiful, highly engineered and still generally affordable. These are the same values Simon brings to his work as an architect.
