Carlos is a highly accomplished architect with over 25 years of experience in both the US and Canada, where he developed a strong dedication to design excellence. He is deeply committed to studying, reflecting and engaging with the design world as part of his everyday life.

As Principal, Commercial, North America, Carlos engages with clients, owners and investors to develop viable approaches to ground up buildings, repositionings, adaptive reuse, corporate interiors and workplace strategies. In the era of the hybrid environment, he leads teams in the development and redevelopment of office buildings and spaces with a focus on transformational and flexible environments aligned to the evolving work ecosystem. He brings a high standard of design thinking, leveraging his broad experience in multiple building typologies across Commercial, Retail, Hospitality and Residential.

Carlos is a founding member of the Sustainability Team at NORR. He is adept in the development of high performance buildings that benefit the environment, economy, occupant health and create healthy and sustainable built environments. Sustainability is a core element of every project he pursues. His latest projects include the repositioning of the 1 Adelaide Office Lobby in Toronto, ON and the boutique Hampton Inn by Hilton, an infill densification project in downtown Calgary, AB.

Having lived and worked in Portugal, Montreal, New York and now Toronto, Carlos channels his passion for global exploration to shape architectural designs that resonate with the human experience.
