From her beginning as a planner and interior designer, Susan Krauss understands the importance of the big picture and the detail required to implement the related strategies. This skill has guided her advancement in project management, portfolio management, strategic planning and operations. She is business savvy and has an innate ability to navigate project delivery across geographies and multiple market sectors.
As Vice President, Operations for our Commercial and Residential sectors, Susan knows that building bench strength in project teams is critical to success. There is no one-size fits all, so each team is purposefully put together, with the right skills sets and attitude to collaborate and flourish for the long term. She works to create environments where people can ask questions and ideate on solutions. These environments are efficient and support speed -to-market. Susan’s view on sustainability is that it must be inherent in the way the industry designs, from the materials we choose to methods of construction. We all have a responsibility to embed sustainable design elements in every project. Through education, we can help inform clients on making informed decisions that will have significant positive impact on their built environment.
To keep inspired, Susan likes to spend time hiking in national parks exploring their diverse landscapes. It gives her perspective – and can be humbling – but it reminds her that while she is only one person, one person can inspire and impact the actions of others.
